Real Estate sales in Onslow County seem to be holding its own better than many other areas of the state and country. Why? There could be a combination of answers to why real estate in Onlsow County is faring better than most. One answer that most people offer as the top reason is the transient nature of the military which make up a large portion of the population of the real estate sales in Onslow County. Certainly, this is a factor that keeps real estate in Onslow County turning over more often than in most areas.
Another answer that is offered is the attraction of the area itself which is attracting more and more retirees from other parts of North Carolina and the United States. The mild climate, lower tax rates and attraction of the water most definitely bring many retirees which buy Onslow County real estate.
Yet another answer that some offer is the growth of industry and retail in the county which brings people seeking employment. There has been much growth in the last few years and needless to say, new business bring new employees looking to buy real estate in Onslow County.
My opinion is that Onslow County real estate sales is not based on one factor but on a combination of all stated and perhaps more that have not been expressed. Whatever the reason or reasons, we are thankful that home sales in Onslow County are holding their own in this uncertain housing market.
