Dining Out on the Crystal Coast
It's about a 30 minute drive from Swansboro, Hubert and Cedar Point to Bogue Banks and Morehead City where we all love to go and dine. Whether you are visiting or reside here, you soon learn we are blessed with some of the best restaurants in the country. I venture to say that some of our chefs and restaurants can hold their own with those in big cities. Generally, people associate the coast with seafood and certainly we do have some outstanding seafood restaurants which serve up locally caught tuna, dolphin, wahoo as well as shrimp, oysters, clams, and scallops. A few years ago seafood here meant "fried fish, shrimp, etc served with french fries and coleslaw. Yes, it is still on many menus but there is sooo much more to seafood and local chefs prepare the local catch in unusual and interesting ways that delight the most discriminating diners.
We have a wonderful, diverse selection of restaurants some fitting into a well defined category and others that do not fit in any particular niche. The Insider's Guide publication has put together a restaurant guide that features many of the area's favorites. I tried to insert a link but could not get it to work so just goggle Insiders
Guide Crystal Coast NC. I hope this is helpful when you visit our Onslow County including Hubert, Swansboro, Jacksonville, Camp LeJeune and Cedar Point.
