Hurricane season officially started June 1, but as we who live on the coast of North Carolina know, our most active season is usually from September through October. It appears Hurricane Dean is heading for the Texas coast with winds in excess of 135 mph from the last report I heard. This certainly reminds us that we need to be prepared.
If you have just relocated to Jacksonville, Hubert, Swansboro or any area of Onslow County, you might not be familiar with the steps you will need to take in the event a hurricane threatens our area.
