Have You Heard The News?
What news you ask--I agree, what news? Most of what we hear from the media is not news in my opinion, it is gossip! Is that true? Have we forgotten what gossip is? Have we forgotten what "news" is all about? I think the media has done just that. Maybe I am going overboard on this but when something as big as the media that controls our lives like the media does (really!), it concerns me. I don't think most people realize just how much influence the media has on our decisions to buy or not buy, what to buy or not buy, who to trust or not trust, what is good or bad, who is good or evil and etc, etc. How do we get a handle on this? I think perhaps the way to do that is to get back to the basics, the principles that our country was founded on--honesty, integrity and faith in God. Yes, I know it is not politically correct to talk like that but I believe being politically correct has led us down some dangerous and destructive paths. We are harming our children by allowing violence, hatred and evil into our homes and society because we are afraid we may offend someone or violate their rights. How smart is that? Who do we care about? The movie, tv, music multimillionaires and their rights or our children and grandchildren and how they are impacted. Studies have shown that children are pretty much "numb" to violence. Why? Because they have seen so much on tv, video games, in music and movies, that it is "NORMAL". How scary is that? I know, I'm just one person what can I do? Not much for sure but if enough people monitor and determine what tv programs, video games, internet activities and music the children in their lives have access to, the "people in charge" will get the message. There is only one way to get to them, through their bank accounts.
